AIDRE is an Africa-led and Africa-owned non-governmental, not-for-profit and non-religious development focused organization with the aim to enhance the socio-economic development of Africa through evidence informed policy making and capacity building.

Mission
The objectives of AIDRE:
- To undertake relevant research that would inform development policy and programmes in Africa
- To support public policy oriented human resource development through capacity building.
- To engage in national and international development oriented advocacy
- To write, issue and publish development oriented reports, articles, periodicals, books, newspapers, position papers, opinion pieces, and other documents.
- To undertake public education on important economic and social issues
- To press for policy reforms that promote the economic development of the continent
